Seeing the two most powerful groups in America, incapable of coming to an agreement or even a compromise of what to do about guns is sad to see. As I was looking for another visual image to express how guns are interpreted in America, I found this one that puts Democrats and Republicans head to head in a sense about a weapon. I found this image to be a perfect expression of how politicians face differences daily on how to control the violence that is happening in our country. I feel like the representation of this picture is to make people feel and think about how those people in power can not come to an agreement for the greater good. All I see in articles is how candidates for presidency go back and forth about how has the better idea on how to fix the situation but not how both parties can work together even though they have differences. On the blue / Democratic side, these are the people that want there to be a required license through the federal government, implement as national gun program, reduce the power from the NRA and allot 100 million dollars annually for research on the cause of so many deaths due to gun violence. Some also say that the problem with Congress is that we simply pass laws on other topics without any hesitation or concern but when it comes down to talk about gun control and violence, no one wants to say anything and just ignore it by not going into detail. I think when it comes down to the fait and future of this country and the consensus is to ignore what may not be important now but will be later is laziness. No matter how long the meeting must take to answer all the questions we need to fix the problems within ourselves and that starts with gun control. On the red / Republican side, all we see and are told over the years is how they rather gun- rights and not gun- control, and they want more ways on how to deal with the aftermath of a gun related incident rather than trying to prevent it from happening in the first place. One statement that I found to support this image is that to explain away gun violence a Republican stated that to fight a bad guy with a gun is to have a good guy with a gun. To me this does not help the situation because we would be fighting fire with fire. This image speaks to the audience and creates a sense of misunderstanding of if we have people in office that do not care about the repercussions of implementing and advising gun-rights rather than gun-control. https://www.google.com/search?q=symbols+of+gun+control&sxsrf=ACYBGNRPrLpc5rg99oyLg0ccB-0MdClk0Q:1572035675862&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjYuKKgobjlAhVPnKwKHRfsDSYQ_AUIEigB&biw=1536&bih=754&dpr=1.25#imgrc=StUFqYdgmj9TIM:
